InstaLumTrip – Unplanned Discoveries
A recurring theme during our road trip was that we were almost always behind schedule. The number one reason? We were constantly on the lookout for photo ops and made multiple unplanned stops. The Oregon coast was particularly distracting with its vast beauty. On our way to Lincoln City OR from Crescent City CA, we had grand plans to see certain sites. However, we were, as usual, ‘distracted’.
One of our ‘distractions’ was Nature Bridges Cove. We were heading up hwy 101 to our first planned stop when I glanced over and saw the sign. I had remembered seeing something about “Natural Bridges…”. I braked hard and swerved across the road to the parking lot. I couldn’t see anything from the lot, so I checked it out first.
It looked promising from the vista point but the view was obscured by trees and fog. We made the decision to venture down the overgrown, narrow trail towards the bottom, in our sandals. As the trail became increasingly narrow, I was thinking that we should abort the mission. I’m glad we didn’t, because the views from the bottom were mind blowing.
Afterwards, I realized that I was thinking about Natural Bridges State Beach in Santa Cruz CA. Another case of confusion and impulsiveness leading to an unforeseen reward. #storybehindtheshot #dudeblog via Instagram http://instagram.com/p/eqPNZjyZ1P/
